This project is developing strategic partnership between international academic, cultural, and professional institutions in Canada and Europe. This is accomplished through a series of interrelated activities from November 2013 until October 2014:
Phase 1, the conference Con la Mente e con le Mani, 9-11 November 2013, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice
Phase 2, didactic workshops, 15-18 May 2014, Schulich School of Music, McGill
Phase 3, designing of a special project at the School of Music, summer semester 2014
Phase 4, the dissemination of results (book, articles, website, & media)
For more details, visit the specific Phase. The site will be constantly updated during the year. If you want to receive info about our workshops and concerts, send an e-mail to info_connection@mentemani.org
Our aim is to establish viable connections among scholars, teachers, musicians, and audiences in order to initiate the process of bringing improvisation back into the core of education for classical musicians in Canada and elsewhere.
